RELEASE:
-------
RAMM is no longer FREEWARE. Due to the complexity that RAMM has
developed, and the time it has taken me thus far, I'm asking for a
voluntary donation of $10.00 USA currency.
Please read the RAMM.DOC section on REGISTERING for more information.
The donation is not manditory. I only ask as a compensation for the
time and effort I've put into RAMM in order to help you gain more
control over your RemoteAccess Menu System(s).
FIXES & ADDITIONS:
-----------------
a2 - (ALPHA 2)
--------------
F - Several display options corrected. Several. Mostly for the
display editing feature. Should work and look a lot better.
A - Added DISPLAY LINE editing character draw. Pressing ALT-B
selects the "Brush" character (didn't want to confuse you
with the ALT-P "Prompt" vs "Pen" hotkey). Pressing ALT-D
will toggle "Draw" mode ON/OFF. Using the left arrow may
have a bug or two because of the insert vs overwrite mode.
But the right arrow is like entering the ALT-# combination
for the Brush character. Eases line drawing for menu
borders.
b1 - (BETA 1)
-------------
A - Added OPTION LINE command lists to refer to when entering the
commands and switches on the option line.
These are the best I could do without a complete list of the
new switches in RA 2.00. If you find any are missing or any
are incorrect, PLEASE let me know!
A - Added "Automatic Backup" switch toggle at the beginning for
those of you that don't like the extra *.BAK files (thanks to
Bob Lopinski for saying he didn't want them).
b2 - (BETA 2)
-------------
F - Mispelled "editing" and "edited" with two "t"s. Oops. Sorry,
Mrs. Plumber (2nd grade teacher).
F - Scroll list for menu types listing. Type was outside of the
list box if the option index was larger then the box height.
F - Display of semi-colon error. Semi-colon is now displayed unless
it is the last character on a display line.
F - Fixed COPY/MOVE menu entries bug. Now you cannot mark the very
last line (next line/end of menu line). Before you could and
it would mangle the menu.
F - But that might have been okay, because it wasn't automatically
asking you to save the changes. It does now after a COPY/MOVE.
A - Added the complete RemoteAccess Textfile CONTROL CODE lists
with a hot-key (F1) for viewing any time during a display line
edit.
These codes were taken from the RA v1.11 documentation and the
(GAMMA) release of RA v2.00.
b3 - (BETA 3)
-------------
A - Added PgUp/PgDn/Home/End keys to menu editor (non-display editor)
for quicker line locating (thanks to Don Shanks for asking).
A - Added "Grab Control-Code" feature to display editing (F1) - list
RA Text-File Control Codes. This way you don't have to enter the
CTRL key combinations (again, thanks to Don Shanks for asking).
F - Changed the memory structure of RAMM to allow 125 seperate menu
entries per menu. The extra 25 lines may be useful to some of
the larger menus.
Available DOS memory required to run RAMM is now 186K (not much
at all, considering).
F - Fixed MOVE and COPY options to allow the buffer to be placed at
the end of the menu on the < next line/end of menu > line.
A - Added USER DISPLAY Filtering. 50 seperate user templates may be
created to use for testing menu display (ALT-D). If a menu entry
does not match the user template, the entry is not displayed.
This may be disabled by selecting (ALT-U) the first template
(NO MENU DISPLAY FILTERING) option (once more, thanks to Don
Shanks for the wisdom in thinking it a good idea).
Adding this option required that a seperate data file (RAMM.DAT)
be created. This file will be placed in the directory of RAMM.EXE
regardless of where RAMM is executed from. This insures that
the RAMM.DAT file will always be found.
A - Added FLAG Descriptions. May be edited from the main edit menu
screen by pressing ALT-F. These are displayed wherever flags are
used or set.
** A - Added RemoteAccess Caller Editor (RACE) user template/user flag
description support. Mike Janke's powerful user editor software
is now the only place you need to set up the templates and add
flag descriptions.
This makes the RA structure you set up much easier to govern and
modify.
The RACE settings are imported ONLY. Changing the user templates
and flag descriptions within RAMM will not change RACE's.
If you modify the RACE configuration, RAMM will inform you of the
possible change the next time you run it, and will ask you if it
should import the new configuration.
The only way RAMM will use the RACE configuration is if RACE.CFG
is in the same directory as RAMM.
Thanks to the following for the RACE integration idea:
-----------------------------------------------------
Don Shanks For taking the time to send Netmail
Hot Air Xpress requesting this feature first.
(1:110/375@fidonet)
Ed Meloan For taking the time to convince me
=RA USA= I should get in touch with Mike Janke
(803)279-5006 and encouraging me to continue.
Mike Janke, For making it possible by having created
Author of RACE the best User Editor available anywhere
and for sending me the file structures
I needed.
b4 - (BETA 4)
-------------
F - Fixed Group and Node "User's Eye" filtering. Apparently I was one
byte off (8 flags) when checking to see if the group was valid for
displaying to the current user template. This was only in the
display checking, not in the actual Group/Node menu setting.
F - Changed the Select User Template hot-key from ALT-F to ALT-U.
This was to keep me from hitting ALT-F from the normal listing
and finding the flag descriptions instead of user templates.
A - Added <<AUTOEXEC>> lines to the menu display for any entries
that are toggled to be automatically executed when displayed.
Didn't realize I'd skipped this. Should have been in the first
ALPHA release (oops). It is also screened by the user templates.
A - Added Edit Menu Entry "Apply Template Security". This will force
a menu entry's flags and minimum security level settings to
reflect the current user template. Only the Menu FLAGS and Menu
Minimum Security Level are touched.
